Roseburg offers optional PPG primer to Douglas-fir and Duratemp® real wood siding

Roseburg is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with global paints, coatings and materials leader, PPG®, to offer clients the added protection and convenience of having PPG Primer applied to Roseburg’s Douglas-fir and DuraTemp® real wood siding.

The machine-applied primer completely seals the surface, hides imperfections, adds a layer of protection from the elements, and promotes bonding to a future topcoat. PPG has been protecting and beautifying the world for more than 130 years with coatings in automotive, building and construction, packaging, heavy-duty equipment, and beyond. The PPG Primer formula contains less than 0.4 lbs/gal (50g/L) of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and aligns with Roseburg’s commitment to sustainability practices.

“We are pleased to offer the PPG primer option to our clients and their customers,” Gary Hayes, Roseburg’s Business Manager for Softwood Plywood and Lumber, said. “PPG’s expertise and reputation for coating surfaces make them an ideal partner for protecting our DuraTemp® and Douglas-fir real wood siding products.” Unlike vinyl or cement siding, Roseburg siding is made from wood – a renewable, environmentally friendly resource. Produced at our mills in Coquille and Riddle, Ore., real wood siding is commonly used for residential, shed, and barn siding applications.
