Stuart Gray was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January 2022. He joined Roseburg in 2017 as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, and was soon appointed to oversee the company’s strategic business development, compliance, and environmental teams. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in 1997, his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2000, and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management in 2016. Gray’s roots run deep in the construction and building supply industry. Prior to attending law school, he worked for many years as a cabinet maker and finish carpenter. After law school, he worked for Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP in Atlanta as a construction and commercial litigator for several years. Gray spent the following 12 years in progressive roles of responsibility at The Home Depot Inc.’s Legal Department in Atlanta, where he initially managed construction litigation across North America, and then served as associate general counsel for its home services, pro supply, operations, and real estate departments. Immediately prior to joining Roseburg, Gray spent two years as vice president and deputy general counsel at Sears Holdings Corporation in Chicago, where he led legal and business teams supporting home services, merchandising, divestitures, and other business departments.
